In a press conference today, Governor Hogan announced the easing of several coronavirus restrictions in the state, including lifting all capacity limits at restaurants and opening up large indoor and outdoor venues at 50% capacity.  The State’s mask mandate, physical distancing, and other safety protocols remain in effect.

Effective this Friday, March 12 –

  • Capacity limits are lifted on outdoor and indoor dining – seated and distanced service only.
  • Capacity limits are lifted on retail, religious facilities, fitness centers, casinos, personal services, and indoor recreational establishments.
  • Large outdoor and indoor venues will expand to 50% capacity – this includes theaters, concert venues, conventions, conference and wedding venues; racing facilities, and outdoor entertainment and sporting facilities.
  • Quarantine requirements and other restrictions on out-of-state travel will also be lifted. Marylanders are still advised to get tested upon their return. Read the updated MDH directives

As stated above, masking, physical distancing, and other safety protocols will remain in place for all indoor and outdoor businesses and establishments.
