Governor Hogan has announced the appointment of Alexandra (Ali) Keane to serve as a deputy chief of staff in the Office of the Governor for labor, health, education, and human services.

Keane will succeed Diane Croghan, who is departing the administration to serve as vice president of community engagement and chief of staff for the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, a member hospital of the University of Maryland Medical System.

Ali Keane, an Anne Arundel County native, currently serves as the deputy legislative officer in the Governor’s Legislative Office, where she oversees legislative matters involving the Maryland State Department of Education, the University System of Maryland, the Maryland Higher Education Commission, the Maryland Department of Budget and Management, the Maryland Department of Commerce, the Maryland Department of Labor, and the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Prior to serving as the deputy legislative officer, Keane served the Hogan administration as a special assistant to the deputy chief of staff and as a legislative aide in the Governor’s Legislative Office.

Keane’s appointment is effective June 21.
