Delegate Brooke Lierman (D) defeated Harford County Executive Barry Glassman (R) in the race for Maryland’s next Comptroller. According to unofficial results, Lierman captured 57 percent of the vote, while Glassman received 43 percent.
Lierman is a disability and civil rights attorney and has recently spent two terms as a Delegate representing District 46 in the Maryland General Assembly.
Glassman was elected to represent District D on the Harford County Council in 1990. He won a seat in the Maryland House of Delegates before being elected to the Maryland Senate in 2010. Glassman is closing out his second term as Harford County Executive.
