In an unanimous vote, Delegate Adrienne Jones has been selected to serve as Speaker of the House of Delegates. The long-time Speaker Pro Tem has made history as the first African-American and first woman to serve in this role.
Speaker Jones has served in the House of Delegates since 1997. In addition to serving as Speaker Pro Tem, a role she was appointed to by the late Speaker Michael Busch in 2003, she has served as Chair of the House Appropriations Capital Budget Subcommittee. Her tenure as Speaker follows the passing of Speaker Busch in early April.
Manis Canning & Associates congratulates Speaker Jones on becoming the next Speaker of the House of Delegates and looks forward to working with her in this role.
