Manis Canning & Associates (MCA) is extremely proud to celebrate its 50th year of advocacy in Annapolis! MCA’s roots date back to 1974 when George Manis began representing the Motion Picture Association of America, a nationally respected Association that remains a valued MCA client to this day.  Since that time, Manis Canning has grown to become one of the premier firms representing clients before the General Assembly, and state and local governments.

In 1991, George Manis and Mike Canning joined forces to forge a multi-faceted government relations firm incorporating the basics of issue and client lobbying with coalition-building, communications, and public relations practice. Under the standards of hard work, ethics, integrity, and professionalism, the firm has grown in size and stature.

Fast forwarding to 2024, the firm now employs five lobbyists and represents many clients in all policy sectors with involvement in most major policy issues before the General Assembly. Our team brings together expertise from managing a business and policy agendas of Governors, General Assembly leaders, state agencies and local governments.

We hope you will reminisce with us over the course of the year as we share pictures depicting the history and memories of MCA!
