Speaker Adrienne Jones has released the list of Maryland House of Delegates leadership changes and committee assignments for the 2023 General Assembly session.
As announced in a press release, Speaker Jones’ leadership appointments include naming Delegate Marc Korman as House Majority Leader, Delegate Jazz Lewis as House Majority Whip, and Delegate Emily Shetty as the Chair of the House Democratic Caucus.
“Marc is the right choice for House Majority Leader,” said Speaker Jones. “He is smart, persuasive and has a track record of bringing delegates together to get tough bills passed.”

Jazz has done a remarkable job bringing our members together as Caucus Chair,” said Speaker Jones. “He’s a respected leader in the chamber and a natural fit to make sure our members are on the same page as it relates to the challenges and opportunities over the next four years.”

“Emily is someone who quickly gained the trust of her Democratic Caucus colleagues,” said Speaker Jones. “She’s clearly ready to take the reins of the caucus operation and build on our successes.”
The announcement detailed five additional senior leadership appointments, 21 committee leadership appointments, 11 joint committee chairmanship appointments, and nine deputy majority whip appointments.
