Manis Canning & Associates is now accepting applications for an intern for the 2027 Maryland General Assembly Session in Annapolis!
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in Maryland government, public policy, and the legislative process to experience the fast pace of a General Assembly session from inside a government affairs firm. Our intern will work alongside MCA’s lobbying team, helping prepare testimony and hearing materials, research and track legislation, attend bill and budget hearings, maintain legislative calendars, and contribute to MCA’s newsletter and communications efforts.
The internship runs from early January through mid-April 2027 and requires a commitment of at least 20 hours per week, with Tuesday through Thursday preferred due to the legislative hearing schedule. The position is based in downtown Annapolis, with time spent both in the MCA office and around the State House complex. A stipend comparable to the Maryland General Assembly’s internship program will be provided.
We’re looking for a self-motivated, dependable candidate with strong writing, communication, and computer skills and a genuine interest in Maryland government. Prior knowledge of the legislative process is a plus, but not required.
Interested in joining us for the 2027 Session? Send a letter of interest and resume to Samira Jackson at sjackson@maniscanning.com. If you know someone who may be interested, please feel free to share this opportunity!
